Some days it’s so damn hard to stay connected to my dreams and ambitions, and others it’s super easy.
Today is one of the hard ones. I feel like I’ve come to a standstill. Now that’s not always a bad thing I know, but I am one of those people who like to be busy doing. I like to feel like I’m moving forward. When my doing is minimal, I have too much time to think about how I might fail.
Even though I woke up feeling this way, I was determined to start the day on the right foot. So I got up, went to pilates, ate a healthy breakfast and did my magical morning ritual.
In case you’re wondering this is what works for me; I write down 3 things I am grateful for (either things I have already or things I pretend to have already), I reconnect to my vision and tap into the strong feelings I have around it and then I say my daily affirmations. You know the ones, I love money and money loves me type thing. These 3 things, give me the caffeine shot I need to get my head in the right place for the next 24 hours.
Usually… but as I said already today wasn’t one of those days.
Initially I fought against it, and tried my best to get back on track, writing down what I still need to do to get my business zinging. Then I stopped myself. Took a step back. A thought. Maybe today is a day to take stock of how far I’ve come, rather than how far I still need to go.
So I started to review in my mind and then write down, so it became real hard evidence, all the things I have done so far in preparation for the launch of my business. And guess what? I automatically felt better.
The insight: I realised that not every day can be a doing day, and that even though I wasn’t doing as much as I had hoped, I had actually still done more than most. I had woken up and put my thoughts and focus on the right things. I had started the day well and even if I wasn’t doing as much as I thought I should, the universe was aware of my intentions.
Sometimes it isn’t easy figuring out stuff for yourself, and that’s why I still have a coach of my own regularly. If you have a goal you need some help with; like how to get more clients, how to take your business to the next level, or how to gain some new skills, then I’m your person.
