Yes I launched, and it was successful in that I built a whole new buying audience, both in my group and my email list. But then guess what crickets, nobody bought 🦗🦗🦗
Now don’t get me wrong I’m signing up new clients through word of mouth and referrals, so I know there’s real value in what I offer. But I’m determined to get it right online too.
I know it can be done because others are doing it. Not one to be deterred, I’m doing a recap of my learnings, before I do it all over again (with a twist) and I thought I’d share with you:
🎬 LESSON 1 – Create a warm buying audience
It’s a numbers game, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You need a sizeable audience to start with as the conversion rates are pretty low, so unless you have a big enough audience you won’t get enough or even any sales. This is where a simple funnel can really make a difference, and it did for me, although I don’t think my audience is quite big enough yet.
🎬 LESSON 2 – Be super visible
The tendency is to think we’re overselling, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone over-sell and I follow loads of different businesses. And when I say selling I mean showing up and putting your offer in front of your dream clients. Chances are you aren’t being visible enough. I think I was initially but then I lost momentum. Which leads nicely to my next point.
🎬 LESSON 3 – See it through
At the beginning of a launch you’ll probably feel all charged up and very inspired, I know I was. The energy you get from your community puts you on a high and sharing what you know is invigorating. Then if you don’t see as much engagement as you’d hoped for or any sales you start feeling a bit deflated, and that loss of energy shows. My big take-out is this ‘it isn’t over ’til the fat lady sings’. Bottom line, I think I gave up too soon.
I’m feeling happy that I have these valuable lessons I can share with you, so all is definitely not lost. Just because I didn’t yet doesn’t mean I can’t.
Doing this first launch online has taught me so much. It’s reminded me that learning comes from doing, not planning and observing. You need to jump right in there, boots and all 💥💯
As I said I’m not about to give up, so watch this space. I’ll be back better than ever.
